In order to prevent accidents , safety flags are important and plays a pivotal role in maintaining traffic and sustaining life. Whether its about indicating road work ahead, a danger zone or indicating oversized load signs, safety flags become inevitable for maintaining discipline on city and highway roads.
Safety flags are specifically designed and are chosen as per requirements. Whether its about putting wide load flags on vehicles or flags showing oversized load signs, most importantly one should identify the specific safety flag which is best applicable. A safety flag can help and direct a driver to follow the mandatory rules and regulations on road which prevents accidents ultimately. Not only for the drivers , these informative flags makes traffic rules and safety measures easy to understand for the general public as well.
Wide load flags are needed for oversized vehicles (or oversized commercial cars). When the load width is more than four inches, the load is considered as wide load and vehicles carrying such wide loads are considered as oversized vehicles. Every state has different parameters, so its advisable for the agencies or the drivers to be aware of the parameters and rules to avoid penalties.
For every commercial cars or vehicles which is carrying wide load or oversized load, its mandatory for them to use oversized load signs , wide load flags and other specific safety flags. These safety flags when used should be attached in the right way. For instance, size of the flags shouldn鈥檛 be lesser than 18 inches square. Since safety flags should stand out load, they are usually bright orange or solid red in color. Oversized vehicles when carrying over-width heavy loads, the wide load flags are placed in both front and rear side of the load. If the dimensions of the load exceeds 4 inches than a wide load flag or safety flags having oversized load signs are attached at the widest part of the load. Similar safety flag rules are applicable for vehicles carrying over-length load.
The load dimensions differ from one country to the other and within countries as well. These dimensions are standardized legally. Certain situations , for instance when a vehicle surpasses the legal load dimensions will definitely need legal permits to run an oversized vehicle on roads. Such permits requires an extra fee and a specific route and dates are given to the vehicle for carrying the overload.

Information About A Good Control Transformer Technology Articles | October 9, 2010
Do you need constant current and voltage to a specific circuit? There are many ways to insure that you get this. One way is to use a control transformer. This unit is design to protect a variety of circuit applications. This transformer can be purchased with different specifications. This article gives you some insight on how these transformers perform.
A control transformer is needed in an electronic circuit that needs constant voltage , or constant current with a lower power, or even volt-amp rating. Generally, it is used together with other filtering devices-such as capacitors-to minimize the differences in the output. Hence, the result will be more constant current or voltage.
A controller transformer is used for industrial applications where electromagnetic devices are also used. Examples of the so called electromagnetic devices include relays and solenoids. With this transformer , it is possible to maximize inrush capability and output voltage regulation, when the electromagnetic devices are energized.
These transformers offer isolation to control components from lighting circuits, and power surges. They also maintain good power regulation under inrush conditions. The inrush current needed for control elements can be 15 times the nominal rating of the transformer. During the active inrush current, the transformer maintains steady as possible the voltage that powers the control element.
These transformers embody high-quality insulating materials , which are crucial to electrically insulate turn to turn windings, primary to secondary windings, layer to layer windings, and ground. A control transformer is vacuum-impregnated with VT polyester resin.
It is also oven-cured to seal the surface and eliminate moisture. It is important to fill the entire unit because it provides a strong mechanical bond. It also offers protection from the environment.
If you need to have proper control transformer specifications , there are three characteristics of a load circuit that you need to determine; besides the minimum voltage needed to operate the circuit.
These three characteristics are the Total Steady-state, Total Inrush, and Inrush Load Power Factor. The Total Steady-state (sealed) VA is volt-amperes that the transformer should deliver to the load circuit for an extended period of time. It is also the amount of current needed to hold the contact within the circuit.
The Total Inrush VA is volt-amperes that the transformer should deliver during initial energizing of the control circuit. The energizing of electromagnetic devices may take 30 to 50 milliseconds. During the inrush period, the electromagnetic controls device may draw normal current several times , which can be between 3 and 10 times.
The Inrush Load Power factor is hard to identify without the detailed vector analysis of all the load components. This analysis, however, is unfeasible. Hence, your safe assumption is 40% power factor. But , there are transformer manufacturers that recommend a power factor of 20%.
It is important that the control transformer matches the load including all electrically energized components in th. |
